Portable Appliance Testing Training

Introduction:

The Electricity at Work Regulations requires that all Electrical Appliances are maintained to prevent dangerincluding the risk of electric shock.  Despite this over 1000 people are electricuted every year at work in the UK, some of which are fatal.  The Portable Appliance Testing Course shows delegates how to PAT Test in line with HSG107 Maintaining portable and transportable electrical equipment issued by the Health and Safety Executive and the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment issued by the Institution of Electrical Engineers.  The course also aims to give clear guidance to stop over-compliance in the industry.  Delegates are also shown how to check whether equipment has actually failed when the tester indicates a Fail, stopping perfectly safe equipment from being disposed of just because the tester says so...

Who Should Attend:

The Portable Appliance Testing Training course is aimed at those intending to carry out or manage PAT testing in a work environment.  Prior electrical knowledge is not necessary as basic principles will be discussed from the outset.
